Oceans tide
If I should wonder off the trails,
Or however I may roam.
Or drift away without my sails,
Show me the way back home.
Or however I may roam.
Or drift away without my sails,
Show me the way back home.
Lost in the oceans swift tide,
My prayers to you I cry.
Oh Holy one be by my side,
Guide me through the night sky.
My prayers to you I cry.
Oh Holy one be by my side,
Guide me through the night sky.
For I am like a boat at sea,
Lost without my sail.
Needing guidance where I be,
With your grace I cannot fail.
Lost without my sail.
Needing guidance where I be,
With your grace I cannot fail.
I love Thee Lord,
No matter where Thy boat leads me to.
I take You at this solemn prayer,
That I may always drift back to you.
No matter where Thy boat leads me to.
I take You at this solemn prayer,
That I may always drift back to you.

The oceans floor depth. At least, that is the number today. With each generation a new depth is discovered. 1991, 2007, 2012, and I'm sure it will continue. So the fact that man keeps discovering new depths of the ocean, it is safe to say we will probably never know the true depth of the ocean floor. Picture this;
Ocean = Gods grace
Okay okay, I know it isn't the most profound thing. When in fact you have probably thought something along those lines before. But think of it again with me and follow along in my reasoning.
We see the oceans surface as shallow, not knowing the full power beneath the first layer of water. Not knowing what beauty is below. The surface. A calm and peaceful beginning. But if we only view the surface of the water, we will never experience the freedom of a good swim, that is grace.
You still with me? Okay, so if the depth is His grace, then what are the waves? I don't know if you have watched for an extended amount of time each wave collapsing upon another towards shore, but each wave is different. So here it is, if we acknowledge that each wave comes from the same source, can we say then that each wave represents a new day? Each day we wake up and are given a new day to experience His grace in new ways and new depths in our life, and that grace we will not fully ever comprehend.
You still with me? Okay, so if the waves are each new day, then what is the sand? No matter the depth of the oceans floor, there will always be sand. However, it is shown that the deeper you go in water, the more beautiful the sand. Because it has been pressed longer, creating cleaner particles. The sand is us. Us, humans, people. No matter the shore you go to, the difference in the water, fresh, salt water. Small waves, large waves. One thing remains that same, sand. The deeper we find ourselves in Christs love and in His grace, we have been washed in His grace, we have been pressed to become a more beautiful grain of sand. And although the tide may take us to the top of the waters at times, we are still washed in the same water, from the same place, that is, Gods grace.
Jeremiah 5:22
'Fear ye Me not? saith the Lord: Will not ye tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that is cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail? though they roar, yet they not pass over it?'

It was Sunday after church (Which was great by the way, that is a totally different post for a later date), The women of PCCC get together and do a bible study called CHASE. The goal is to put aside our distractions and chase after Gods heart and His character. Well, this week the chapters title was "Repentance". I had put off the study guide all week and I knew the get together was just hours away. I told the group of girls I was with for church that I was going to break away from the group and head to the beach.
I had been contemplated the week prior what the Lord was teaching me, what He was pursuing
in my heart and what He wanted me to take away from this study. Over and over and over again this past week the Lord has been teaching me His grace. but not that alone, in fact grace is the foundation of what He is teaching me. He is teaching me that bitterness can be let go of, that forgiveness can be given, and received. And in forgiveness comes freedom in Christ Jesus, through His grace, love and mercy.
The question read " Draw a picture or describe what you feel God is looking for in you. use an analogy or an image that represents this concept.". It was this question at the end the chapter that captured my attention. And while I sat on the rock by the incoming tide, the Lord gave me the answer that was written above. Simply put, The ocean is Jesus's grace for us.

For the study we are going through the story of David, and for this chapter (Repentance) we went through the months of this mans life where his sin got the better of him (2 Samuel 11-12). But coming out of these months of his life he finds Gods grace. That doesn't mean he didn't reap the consequence of his actions, but he was still able to receive Gods grace because he repented. He turned to Jesus and admitted his wrong doing.
Proverbs 28:13
'He who conceals his sin will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy'
Psalm 32
' Therefore let everyone who is Godly offer up prayer to You at a time where you
may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.'
